Darn it all to the darn it all
OK I just spend 9.2K on a Sup Tome for a War. Upon Clicking on it there is nothing not one skill to unlock.
Why is that. Why did I spend all that gold for nothing. If I hear that I need to UNLOCK that thing on my account before I can even use a tome on any of the toons I have I am going to freak out and smash something. Why the heck would I buy something to unlock something if the something needs to be unlocked first to use the something for someone. I do not want to hear that I need to spend 10 bucks in the store for the skills unlock pack. This is just wrong. |

Hehe, I did that once too.
Proabably the easiest way is to buy a skill from Priest of Balthazar. (Normal Skill = 1,000 Balthazar faction to unlock. Elite Skill = 3,000 faction Balthazar faction to unlock). Then you can use the tome to get it on whatever char you want. |

It's a convenience that saves you time and/or money, not a necessity. |

Yes, they need to be unlocked first. Not hard to do, though. You can do it fairly quickly through balthazar faction.
Also, it is common in the English language to follow a question with a question mark instead of a period. Sorry, couldn't resist. |

That is why I have legendary skill hunter on one of my characters: all elite skills are unlocked for my whole account.

the purpose of an elite tome is to spend money so that you dont have to hunt down a boss, specially if your not that far yet. you do, however, need to unlock it first so that you may unlock it for your own character.

There are reasons for doing this.
The most obvious one is if you have multiple characters. Then one character who has already capped an elite provides easier access to that elite for another character. The other, easy way, to go is through PvP (which allows you to unlock skills that are only available later in the story line more easily). |

Never trust ANYONE in GW that you:
1) don't know personally 2) haven't spent large amounts of game time with 3) isn't in your guild/alliance When presented with information from someone who wants something from you (a trade), always be suspicious. If you don't know about what they are talking about, ask someone you know you can trust, or better yet, type /wiki. |
